[mgj-discuss] Tar Sands action on Wed... need YOU!

* Wednesday Sept 16*, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper is visiting the
White House.

On the agenda:* Sell Tar sands expansion* and how it fits into the climate
negotiations.

*Join us  *in greeting him to show the media and the Canadians that we don’t
want Pres Obama to buy what Harper is selling.  *(Canada, Keep your Dirty
Tar Sands!)*

Among the activities planned (see whoisharper.org), we will set up a small
station in Lafayette Park with photos of the tar sands & a hot new DVD that
tells the story. We will try to deliver the DVD to key people going in  the
White House and on Capitol Hill. We will invite people to look at the video
and photos of the tar sands and film their reaction.

Volunteer to *be a Polar Bear,* *hold a flag *or banner, *hand out DVD's*,
and get to* tell the public and the media *what you think about the dirtiest
energy source on the planet...!

We also need folks to interview people about what they are seeing and
videotape it.

****We also need people to go to *Takoma Park Farmer’s Market this Sunday
between 9 and 2 to react to tar sands photos on camera.* They can also learn
interviewing techniques for the Wednesday event. Please recruit a couple of
friend, colleagues or relatives to go there on Sunday, perhaps on their way
to the folk festival. If they can do that, please have them call Matt at 413
537 6537.
