I've been living in neighborhood for quite a few years and although
parking was always tight it was manageable until the city started 24/7
enforcement of the parking laws. There are lots of spots in the
neighborhood that don't block driveways or crosswalks, but are
technically illegal, which are now off limits because of draconian
enforcement. Now it is very difficult to park, have friends over, or
bring in repair people. No more "solutions" please.

If eliminating the parking on the West side of 18th Street had been done
to encourage public
transport from the burbs to Adams Morgan, then if should have been
implemented only after
improving public transport and parking enforcement along residential
streets.

Eliminating the parking will. as Department of Transportation (DDOT)
press release (second
below)indicates, - "reduce weekend traffic congestion" by opening up
18th Street to more traffic.

This will -
1) Encourage more traffic to come into the neighborhood
2) Increase visitor and commercial worker parking on the residentail
streets.
3) Cause more congestion throughout the neighborhood.

This is not the right way to implement the traffic study.
