      Mt. Pleasant artist Anna Demovidova's original artwork, 'Jam Session', 
is the music illustration on the front of the 2005 Adams Morgan Day Festival 
T-shirt.  Each year we will be featuring a different local artist on the 
commemorative T-shirt to bring their art to a wider audience.  Anna donated her 
design time and art.  Her artwork can be viewed at:

beautiful design and thanks to these local businesses for providing a financial 
base that helps make the Festival possible.  
        These colorful T-shirts will be available at the Festival on Sunday, 
Sept 11.  There will also be a special Hurricane Katrina donation booth.

        "Arts on Belmont" is now packed this year with a full complement of 
artists showing their work on the shady residential street (they are charged a 
minimum amount lower than on 18th St).  Some of our more established artists 
will have sales booths right on 18th St itself.  All Adams Morgan artists and 
businesses and non-profits pay a lower rate than do outside vendors, because 
our non-profit mission is to revitalize, promote, and beautify our neighborhood 
business area.  
       We are trying to make up in sponsor money, the funds we lost by 
limiting vendors (especially outside ones) to a single row down the center of 18th 
St.  This way our local businesses now stay open because their facades and 
sidewalk cafes, and our murals & neighborhood architecture are now  VISIBLE, 
instead of being blocked as was happening previously.
