[Mintwood-place] Successful Robbery Arrests

Dear Friends:
 
I am working with Chief Ramsey and MPD 3D leadership to increase the level
of police deployment in Ward One/3D. we have some hopeful signs for
immediate relieve.
 
I am also pleased with the job done by our police officers, as evidenced by
this recent (5/26) report from Inspector Burke:
 
"Mr. Graham.  FYI - per our conversation, we arrested 2 juveniles yesterday
in the 1000 block of Q St. NW for Assault with intent to Rob.  These
juveniles were 17 and 16 years old.  We also arrested an adult for Robbery
in the 1300 blk of NH Ave, NW - his name is Ray Hicks.  We also arrested 3
persons in stolen autos (all in PSA 302) and arrested a man (Nelson Florez)
for Theft from auto - (We arrested the same guy last week for the same
thing).   Yesterday, we arrested 3 juveniles in a stolen car (who fit the
description of some of our juvenile robberies); One of those kids had a .25
caliber handgun."
 
For sure, its going to take all of us working together to stop this crime in
our neighborhoods. we need community support and intelligence as well as a
strong police presence and response. I am also pleased that for the fifth
year we will have our Ward One summer youth employment program, tailored to
high risk youth. More than 300 young people were served last year. Let me
know if you know of someone who could benefit from this.
