[Mintwood-place] Adams Morgan Youth "on the TV"

This morning, Hoops Sagrado was featured live on Channel 9 WUSA's morning news program. We had 12 former and current Hoops participants show up to play some ball as well as some old-head college players (Amanda and Jeff--thanks!) who came to help out. The fact that we were able to get that many kids up that early in the morning (5:30 a.m.) speaks a lot to the commitment they have to the program.
 
They did three live shots from Balance Gym. One at 5:50 a.m., one at 6:10 and one at 6:40. With me and three of the students (Spencer, Sparkle and Jahari) were interviewed about the program and their experiences in Guatemala. 
 
Since it was live, it's not on their Web site, but what is on the Web is the reporter's blog with lots of great basketball footage and more interviews with of the students. Check it out when you have a chance!
