[Mintwood-place] Unrelated Shootings in Col. Hts. & Near Howard Univ.

Jim, we are all very concerned.  As you know, events like this beg for us to understand MPD's plan.  Unfortunately I cannot feel confident in what I have reviewed.
   
  I think that you as the Council member of our Ward, need to pursue this issue...not just for the sake of having a plan, but rather that there is some clear direction, benchmarks and accountability.
   
  I do not want to go back to these emails six months from now because we are facing an ever growing number of shootings and other crimes and we all realize that we haven't really had a plan of action.

  At around 6:00 pm a young man was shot outside 1475 Columbia Rd, NW.   He was immediately rushed to the hospital.  He went through multiple surgeries.  I am pleased to report he is alive and it looks like he is making good progress.  Our prayers are with his friends and family.

  Shooting on 2000blk of Georgia Ave, NW
   
  The report from high level MPD officials indicates a girl was shot in the leg during an argument over money at 2016 Georgia Ave, NW last night around 11:20 pm.  The victim may have known the assailants.  There are solid leads, and the police expect to close this case soon.
   
  I will provide more information when it is available.
