[Mintwood-place] Adopt a Family - Hurricane Katrina Refugees

Hello - I came across this thread doing research on the families who 
were housed at the DC Armory following the evacuation from New Orleans:

I was wondering: did Mintwood finally adopt a family? Did other 
cooperatives similarly adopt families?

I'm researching the affects that community efforts have in times of 
disaster and this story struck me as a particularly compelling example 
of the power of individuals.
