[Mintwood-place] NOTICE – Howard University Homecoming Traffic Restrictions

Dear Friends:



The following traffic restrictions will be in effect Saturday, October 18
for Howard University's Bison Stampede 5K Run/Walk and Homecoming Parade.
They will be imposed from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Motorists should avoid the route
of the events and intersecting streets.



The 5K Run/Walk will take place from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. followed by the
parade from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. along the same route.  The route is as
follows:



   - The participants will start in the 2400 block of 6th Street, NW
   - Proceed north on 6th Street, NW
   - West on Fairmont Street, NW
   - South on Georgia Avenue, NW
   - Northeast on Florida Avenue, NW
   - North on 5th Street, NW
   - East on T Street, NW
   - North on 3rd Street, NW
   - East on Elm Street, NW
   - North on 2nd Street, NW
   - West on Bryant Street, NW
   - North on 4th Street, NW to McMillan Drive, NW where they will disband

 Metropolitan Police anticipate heavy pedestrian traffic. Motorists are
advised to use caution.  Unexpected changes in the street closures may be
imposed as needed.
