Fenty Statement on Arrest in Columbia Heights Shooting
Nearly two hours after the Fenty Administration updated the public on Thursday's Columbia Heights shooting, MPD arrested 19-year-old Devyn Black. Black, escorted to the Third District Precinct by Councilmember Jim Graham, was charged with Assault With a Deadly Weapon. In response, Fenty issued the following statement:
 "I applaud Councilmember Graham for his assistance in securing the arrest, and commend MPD for the speedy turn-around of this case. Today's actions illustrate how committed District leaders are in cracking down on crime in an effort to ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents."
