Adam, what a sham you are!
1.) Adam protects and defends his property and his small business against a project that will employ over 1,500 working class residents of the city (full disclosure: I am collaborating with the Adams Morgan HISTORIC Hotel to insure that at least 250-500 Latino residents of the city are employed by the hotel between construction and permanent positions when the hotel is functional).
2. Adam Eidinger RESTRICTS the voting franchise. At the KCA meeting Adams spoke up to make sure that MINORITIES COULD NOT VOTE in the KCA. He is Denis James's greatest ally. Adam partners with the most notorious restrictionist/reactionary in the neighborhood (Denis James).
3. Adam wants to open business opportunities WHEN IT COMES TO THE CULTIVATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF MARIJUANA but will protest anyone -even a couple of guys from our neighborhood- who do not comply with his notion of what is right for HIS neighborhood. He is a fraud and a sham. I am ashamed of you.
4. ) When the most humble working class Latinos were kicked out of the neighborhood in the park at Columbia Road & Euclid. WHERE WERE YOU? O great defender of the poor. I didn't see you out there protesting the AM BID who managed to throw 100 working class Latino jobs out of the neighborhood. U big talk and NO action.
YOU ARE A 1%er. The only difference between you and Occupy Wall Street is that they disapprove of the entire ruling class. You only disapprove of those WHO ARE NOT WITH YOU!!! Any developer within 500 miles of this city would have given up on the project by now given all the hot air coming from you. There is nothing wrong with these guys. THEY ARE JUST LIKE YOU. But you would deny them their dream TO PROTECT AND DEFEND THE WEALTHIEST AMONG US. OOOHH Denis must be so proud of you.
How dare you stand up with KCA and not allow a black man to vote. You, the great enfranchiser (except when it comes to your neighborhood). Boo hoo hoo, now you're going to respond to this note with some lofty thoughts and justifications. YOU ARE AGAINST THE WORKING CLASS and are making this neighborhood safe for greater gentrification (which will help you make more money on your properties). Sure, rich tourists (yeah right) will visit Adams Morgan, BUT WITHOUT THE HOTEL DIVERSITY WILL SUFFER and more and more working class folks will be forced out of the neighborhood (but don't worry someone will make a statue of you defending the neighborhood for the rich). You drink the cool aid with Denis... you are two peas in a pod. Make sure he supports you next time you run for office. You're doing his work for him.
I will no longer enter your hemp shop. Boycott Adam is my cause now. YOU ARE AGAINST DIVERSITY IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD!!! SHAME ON YOU.
Jose

Subject: Adams Morgan: Luxury Hotel or Affordable Housing?
Hello DC Residents,
The Georgetownization of Adams Morgan is about to be given a steroids
shot.
http://www.tinyurl.com/admohotel
Seems proponents of the hotel project don't seem to want to get the
feedback that if a luxury hotel is built in the middle of Adams Morgan
for the those who can can afford $300-$400 per night hotel room rates,
property taxes and both residential and commercial rents will be going
up.
This ripple effect won't just stay in Adams Morgan as Mount Pleasant,
Columbia Heights, and East Ward One will feel the impacts as well.
Further feedback has shown that people are concerned about the height
and density of the proposed hotel. The zoning for the proposed hotel
site doesn't allow for buildings taller than 50 feet -- the hotel
developer says it's 100+ feet or nothing because he can't make profit on
anything less. Some have said, let's turn this church into a beautiful
library.
So, how is this project even being considered given its breaking of
local Zoning laws...
a Planned Unit Development (PUD) >> http://tinyurl.com/3csamkg
On Thursday night (TOMORROW), the Office of Planning and local ANC will
be hosting a meeting to discuss the Planned Unit Development process,
vis-a-vis the proposed hotel project.
What: PZT Meeting on Understanding the Planned Unit Development Process

Where: Festival Center, 1640 Columbia Road, NW
===========================================
IF YOU HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT THE HOTEL PROJECT
1) Express your concerns here >>

SMALL BUSINESSES ARE UPSET TOO!
http://tinyurl.com/3n9ogbp
While a wealthy corporate developer wants to build a Marriott hotel and
wants to use a DC Taxpayer subsidy to do it -- small businesses in Adams
Morgan are struggling to get by at a time when construction and a poor
economy is crushing them. BUT THE SMALL BIZ GET NO TAX BREAKS?!?
