[Mintwood-place] New Outdoor Murals Proposals by 4/30

The DC Department of Public Works (DPW) is once again asking for your help to identify walls that are routinely tagged with illegal graffiti.  I authored the initial funding that established the MuralsDC Program in 2008.  It has very successful. Instead of just removing the graffiti and creating a blank slate for more graffiti, MuralsDC replaces the tagging with community inspired artwork.

MuralsDC is a partnership between DPW, Words Beats and Life, and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.

There are currently 34 MuralsDC projects throughout the District - with several in Ward One including Champlain Park, Bruce Monroe Park at Georgia and Columbia Rd., Sherman Ave. and Barry Pl., Walter Pierce Park.
