[Seedgeeks] seedgeek gnosis at the Fall bioregional permie gathering

Mushroom's agreed to do the Friday 10th September evening keynote speech
at the permie gathering. In other words, seedgeek gnosis will massively
inform the consciousness of the gathering. "Bioregional realities are what
it's all about," he told me. I sense he will draw a crowd.

I should add Mushroom has not committed to participate in the bioregional
seed stewardship panel on Sunday 12th. So when approaching others about
the likelihood of attending or participating in that panel discussion,
please don't intimate he will be there. My honest sense is that if the
panel looks interesting, he'll make a second trip to town that weekend;
but for the time being, it's up to us to draw him: and categorically _not_
by airing his potential participation to draw others. (I know I'm
sounding pedantic about expressing the precise nature of his commitment at
this juncture, but I've had a great deal of experience "packaging"
multi-participant events, and I have found, time after time, that it
always pays to be _scrupulously_ honest and precise about the
participation-level that people are at, no matter the temptation to play
with words.)

Who knows how things will unfold between now and then, of course. There's
also a possibility we may add more seedgeek sessions at the gathering if
the need arises. I'm close to the organizing, so can push the seedgeek
platform further if solid ideas and commitments come our way. Keep me
posted about what you are interested in or may need. (Oh, and everyone's
very enthusiastic about Heather C. doing an "intro to permie activism"
track, especially the people who've experienced her teaching before.)

There will, of course, be a seedswap at the gathering. Just now, we're
unsure on timing. Potentially the very beginning of the event, on Friday
afternoon; or the very end, late Sunday afternoon. My sense is Sunday
would work best. It would allow farmers to attend. The seedswap needs to
be handheld. Heather in Portland? Kris? (Portland Heather, dearie, whass
yer email? A long note to you just bounced. And how would ya prefer to be
distinguished from Heather C. in this stuff?)

As things firm up, I'm gonna be working my local farm contacts to point
them at the seed stewardship track, too. I reckon we'll draw some of the
finest.

I had a long, wild chat with Tim Peters late ast night. He's still in
Myrtle Creek. I'm already working Jim Myers at OSU. Taylor's committed to
working Carol Deppe and Rose Marie Nichols; Portland Heather's on Frank
Morton. Anybody else come to mind? Any more ideas, anyone?
