Some of you are already aware of the "bioregional seed stewardship"
session scheduled for the final day of the Fall Bioregional Permaculture
Gathering on Sunday, September 12, in Eugene, OR
(http://www.heliosnetwork.org/epg/). We're hoping this rendez vous will
gift us a rare opportunity to explore collective responses to concerns
surrounding stewardship of the foods that hold up our local world. A
seedswap will conclude the gathering, that day.

Dr. Alan Kapuler, former research director for Seeds of Change, now of
Peace Seeds in Corvallis, will be delivering the gathering's keynote
address on Friday evening.

In the meantime, seedgeeks will be potlucking at John Sunquist's River's
Turn Farm, at 6.00 p.m. on the evening of Sunday 5th September (directions
below), to help frame context for the session the following weekend. If
you're not able to make it to one or both of these get-togethers, but have
concrete concerns or ideas you would like to share in the runup to the
official shindig on the 12th, please feel free to drop input on us. Email
us at fellowservant at yahoo.com, or call at: 541-685-2548. What are your
salient long-term concerns regarding sustainable local food crops?

Please pass the word along to those you think may be interested. Many
thanks.

Yrs, in the dirt,

n.

Directions to River's Turn Farm:

Directions for the Sunday 5th pre-conference conversation are: Take
Coburg Road north outta Coburg. Between milemarker 11 and 12, hang a left
on Lane's Turn Road. A hundred yards on, go over the small bridge, and
hang an immediate right on the dirt road into River's Turn Farm, 31139
Lane's Turn Road.

(Two caveats: please keep to the 25 mph speed limit in Coburg. The locals
are rich on touristas. And second, there's an occasional tendency for
drivers going north outta Coburg to a) hang a right at the fire station on
Coburg Road North, when they should go straight on Coburg Road and b)
about 8? miles outta Coburg, there's a temptation to keep going straight,
onto Powerline road, as Coburg road sweeps grandly round to the left.)
