There's still an opportunity to participate in the Straw Bale Vault build at
Blue Rock Station. Come spend a day with us and learn some of the
techniques used to create these interesting and sustainable structures. The
basic structure is in place but you will learn how this was constructed, as
well as how to do some of the finish work.

Mud/Adobe Plastering Workshop on Aug 27th:
On Saturday, Aug 27th we will spend the day learning the various techniques
of working with earth plasters. We will finish off the Straw Bale Vault
build process with a good coat of mud, so come prepared to get dirty. You
will learn the basics of this ancient building technique (art), coating
various wall types (pounded tires, straw bale and beer bottle structures)
with a beautiful natural earth plaster. We will show you the various mixes
(for cobb, scratch coat, finish coat and lime wash) and talk about the
various advantages and problems associated with this wonderful construction
technique.

A hearty lunch, followed by proper British tea is included and the pace will
fit your abilities and stamina. The cost is $35 per person and enrollment
is limited to 10 - so register early. To find out a bit more about this
workshop, visit our web site at http://www.bluerockstation.com/events.htm or
