I'm with Jon.  In my experience, Tompkins County folks are often so
preoccupied with the troubles of the world that getting them to pay
attention to what's happening locally is extremely difficult.

If this list is going to turn into "Tompkins County saves the world," I'll
unsubscribe quickly.  If it's going to be "How things we can do here fix
this part of the world and echo elsewhere," I'll be very happy to stay.

There's no shortage of places to talk about saving whales.  There's a
shortage of places where people talk about what we can do here to achieve
sustainability.
