Some inputs:
* I fully agree with Jon's comments about keeping the listserv
as non-political, neutral as possible to encourage all people of the
community to participate in sustainable activities and ideas. The goal
should be that sustainability will be embraced universally-like
democracy.
* I assume that the listserv has guidelines and statement of
purpose? If not, might be helpful to craft them- from the inputs coming
in now and the "founders'" intentions. The statement and guidelines
should be automatically mailed every one or two months as a
refresher/reminder and invite comments to be included in future
revisions. I would be happy to help on this.
* We are starting from a strong position- I get lots of good
information (its like a free search engine on the most appropriate of
the tons of sustainability articles out there), the number of postings
is not overwhelming and there is a good, organic process for discussion
and self correction when things look like they are getting tangential or
political. One of the tenants of Sustainability is Continuous
Improvement- so lets do it!
