CELEBRATING SIGNS OF SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainable Tompkins invites you to join us on December 14 for a holiday
gathering and celebration of our progress towards a more sustainable community.
We'll begin with a potluck dinner (bring your favorite holiday
dish-to-pass!) and live music courtesy of Rick Manning and friends. Then we'll settle
back with dessert and watch our new slide show "Signs of Sustainability -- 2006
Year in Review" to celebrate the encouraging progress we are making in
creating a more sustainable community. We are working to put together a
retrospective highlighting the top 50 events, programs, projects, and visions put forth
by local governments, agencies, non profits, businesses, and citizens over
the past year. Come join us and take a bow for helping create a more positive
future for our community! Afterwards, visit with friends, join in an
alternative gift making activity, or be the first to try out our new "Weaving a
Web of Sustainability" game.
All are invited to attend the celebration, to be held 6:00 to 9:00 PM,
Thursday, December 14 at the Annex of the Unitarian Church, 306 N. Aurora, Ithaca.
The monthly Sustainable Tompkins gatherings are a place for local citizens
to network and learn about each other's interests and involvements in the
sustainable community movement. The event will begin with a potluck dinner
-including a scrumptious dish donated from GreenStar's Sustainable Catering Menu
featuring locally-grown, organic, and fairly made goodies. Drinks and dessert
will be provided by Sustainable Tompkins. Please join us and bring a friend
or two!
Sustainable Tompkins is a coalition of citizens, community organizations,
elected officials, educators and professionals from diverse fields - all
working to promote a more just and sustainable community
