Ithaca Biodiesel Collecting Used Fryer Oil 

ITHACA, NY - 11/17/2006 - Area residents are invited to donate their used
fryer oil to the Ithaca Biodiesel Cooperative oil recycling program.
Vegetable oil from turkey fryers and other deep fat fryers can be dropped
off in closed containers at the cooperative, which is located at 102 Cherry
Street in downtown Ithaca.   Hours are Monday and Wednesday, 3:00-6:00 p.m.
or by appointment (call 592-2266 for arrangements).  The oil will be
processed for use in diesel engines modified to run on vegetable oil, or it
will be converted into biodiesel, which can be used in any standard diesel
engine when blended with petroleum diesel. 

Ithaca Biodiesel Cooperative is a not-for-profit organization promoting
sustainable transportation solutions in Tompkins County.  The cooperative
provides alternative fuels for diesel vehicles using locally sourced waste
