This approach is creative, parallels Greg Thomas' approach of using trees
saved or trees planted as a measure of energy saving, and will likely capture
the imaginations of a certain segment of the population in the US. Might be
interesting to try this with school kids as well, maybe as a set of math
exercises? If anyone is interested in working out these types of calculations to
create a list of energy savings and pounds of CO2 saved for each one could you
please contact me? Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County might be able to
compile such a list, and print them up in bulk for groups to use if there
was interest. Thanks. ken
