Learn and Teach T-Shirt Re-Fashioning

Volunteers are needed to learn and teach t-shirt re-fashioning at a workshop at this year's America Recycles Day, Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Pyramid Mall. We will have a space near Borders and will show participants how to reuse old t-shirts by turning them into snazzy, new fashions. Based on the book "Generation T: 108 Ways to Transform a T-shirt," we'll use a no-sew technique that requires only scissors and imagination. At the end of the event, we'll have an impromptu fashion show with workshop participants modeling their new t-shirt styles on the America Recycles stage. The workshop hours are noon to 4 p.m. and working a shorter shift is okay. Attendance at an orientation session (where we'll remake a T) is required. High schoolers, college students, retirees -- and everyone in between -- are invited to help. Each volunteer who works two hours or more will receive a copy of the book as a thank you. ALSO NEEDED: Clean, unwanted t-shirts.

For more information contact Wendy by e-mail or phone, 277-7611. Thanks!
