County Planning Dept. to offer preservation talks with public input

The Tompkins County Planning Department invites you to talk about
protecting the natural, economic, recreational and aesthetic value of
lands in the county. The meetings are designed to give the public an
opportunity to learn about natural resources and working landscapes
in Tompkins County, contribute local knowledge and discuss management
and conservation issues.
A series of six upcoming meetings will focus on the lakeshore,
southern and western portions of the county. They will be held:
* From 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct.24, at Caroline Town Hall, 2670
Slaterville Road, Slaterville Springs;
* From 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26 at the Tompkins County Public
Library, Borg Warner Room,101 E. Green St., Ithaca;
* From 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at the Danby Town Hall, 1830
Danby Road, Danby;
* From 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at the Newfield High School
Cafeteria, 247 Main Street, Newfield;
* From 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the Lansing Town Hall, 29
Auburn Road, Lansing, and;
* From 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov.15, at the Trumansburg High School
Cafeteria, 100 Whig Street, Trumansburg.
