hey everyone,
i wanted to encourage you to check out this new site that just went live.
the idea is its a forum for people who drive opinions in society and
provides a means for big names and the everyday joe to interact, debate and
share ideas and issues that they believe are important. the minds behind
this site include a former clinton press secretary and other prominent
people. if you surf around, click on the hot issues, especially Tim
Shriver's - its all about youth. you'll see discussion feeds under it where
i posted stuff about energy, fairly hastily. anywyas, its a good place to
get our issues out there... more info below.

The Soup is ready.
HOTSOUP.com is built and waiting for you to take ownership. The easy part is
done. We've created the tools that will allow you to connect with one
another and produced features that will make HOTSOUP a
nowhere-else-on-the-Internet experience, an issues-driven platform for
people eager to tackle the problems that our leaders too often ignore.
The rest is up to you. This is your community. On Thursday, Oct. 19, we
will flip the switch and let you into the Soup. After you take a look
around, let us know what you think. What do you like? What don't you like?
What features do you want added?
You can reach us through the 'Contacts' link at the bottom of every page or
come right to me at "Fournier Files," which is the name of my Issue Loop.
Any person or organization can start and join Issue Loops; they are
multimedia discussion boards devoted to any issue or interest. Mine will
focus on you.
A sample of our features:
* Hot Issues - These are five-person panels of Opinion Drivers tackling the
same issue in different ways. Their job is to "stir the pot," provoking the
community into thoughtful debate. We're looking for recruits from the
community to join the high-profile panelists. Are you hungry?
* Issue Loops - With the push of a button, you can create a micro-community
inside HOTSOUP.com to discuss, debate, and share your points of view on any
topic or issue. Every community member can create and join any Loop.
* Networking - HOTSOUP software helps you find and connect with your fellow
community members.
* "V-Factor" - You can always share your opinion and watch it influence the
results live on the site. An exclusive feature called the V-Factor measures
how likely you are to tell friends and family about what you've learned on
HOTSOUP. The "V" stands for viral - as in viral or word-of-mouth
communication. Whether you know it or not, you are an Opinion Driver, the
type of person whose opinion influences so many others.
Your viewpoint matters more than ever. As we lose faith in political,
business, media and other institutions, Americans are turning to each other
for help and guidance. Every community has a person like you, a trusted and
respected Opinion Driver. People are turning to you.
And so are we.
