Housing and Energy Assistance Training SUBTITLE: HEAT Housing and
energy agencies operating in the Binghamton Metropolitan Area and Broome County
will come together to provide energy information to homeowners, landlords,
and tenants of our community. Participants include: New York State Electric
and Gas, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County, City of Binghamton,
First Ward Action Council, Southern Tier Energy $mart Communities Program, Home
Performance with ENERGY STAR® BPI accredited contractors, United States
Department of Agriculture, and Opportunities for Chenango. Participants will
distribute information and applications to residents. There will be
representatives available to explain program qualifications and advise how and where to
submit these applications. Residents will have the opportunity to learn what
housing and energy programs are available to assist them with their housing
needs. Informational workshops will be held throughout the day. Section 8
Rental Applications will be available as well as information concerning
application for HEAP and disaster relief. This event is open to the general public.
Giveaways, door prizes, free parking, and refreshments will be provided
