[SustainableTompkins] Florida county plans to vaporize garbage

Thanks Wendy: this is a classic! I laughed out loud when I read this 
quote from some goofball at Georgia Tech:

said that as energy prices soar and landfill fees increase, plasma-arc

"Municipal solid waste is perhaps the largest renewable energy resource 
that is available to us," Circeo said, adding that the process "could 
not only solve the garbage and landfill problems in the United States 
and elsewhere, but it could significantly alleviate the current energy 
crisis.">>

So now trash is a RENEWABLE RESOURCE! YAY! We can all keep purchasing 
over-packaged stuff we don't need and just throwing it away in the 
knowledge that we are doing our part so solve the energy crisis!

I am so glad to know there is always a brilliantly formulated 
technological solution like this one to save us from ourselves...
