Dear all, September 26, 2006

[image: apple]<http://www.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?key=196499562&url_num=2&url=http://members.greenpeace.org/sites/greenmyapple/>Let
me introduce you to Apple's latest release: hundreds of tons of
contaminated, unrecycled products. Apple is selling you a fresh, clean image
and innovative technology, but behind their messaging is a dirty little
secret: their products are made with poison. That's because under their
skin, Apples are full of toxic chemicals like polyvinyl chloride plastic and
brominated flame retardants.

When old Apples get tossed, they can end up at the fingertips of children in
China, India and other developing world countries. They dismantle them for
parts, and are exposed to a dangerous toxic cocktail that threatens their
health and the environment.

 Tell Apple to go
organic!<http://www.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?key=196499562&url_num=3&url=http://usactions.greenpeace.org/action/start.php?action_id=123>

This cutting edge company risks cutting lives short by exposing thousands of
children in the developing world to dangerous chemicals. We've got a better
idea for next year's coolest new product: a green
Apple<http://www.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?key=196499562&url_num=4&url=http://usactions.greenpeace.org/action/start.php?action_id=123>
.

Sincerely,

Ok, I get it, you probably don't have 3 BILLION dollars to donate to global
warming like Richard Branson did last week. But you probably do have time to
do something to help stop global warming, and I've got a great way for you
to get involved!

We've launched a new campaign called Project Hot
Seat<http://www.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?key=196499562&url_num=8&url=http://members.greenpeace.org/hotseat/>,
to change the climate in Congress. YOU control the thermostat, and we've got
the tools for you to turn up the heat.

Al Gore, Richard Branson, and thousands of people like you understand what's
at stake if we don't take a stand against global warming now. So what's
wrong with Congress? You can join people just like you across the country
and help put Congress on the Hot Seat about global warming. Get together for
a Hot Seat House Party on Tuesday, October 10th and we'll make a plan to
make an impact.

Throw a Party!<http://www.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?key=196499562&url_num=9&url=http://www.greenpeace.org/usa/houseparty>>>
Be the center of the party.

We've made party planning easy, and we'll supply everything you need,
including email invitations and a free Project Hot Seat party kit.

Attend a Party!<http://www.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?key=196499562&url_num=10&url=http://members.greenpeace.org/action/event.php>>>
Want to bring some life to a party near you? RSVP and invite your
friends
too.

At the party you'll watch a video on global warming and join Greenpeace
Executive Director John Passacantando, actress Daryl Hannah, and global
warming expert Bill McKibben for a national conference call. It's easy --
we'll provide the entertainment, you provide the energy to change Congress.

Don't get burned by global warming. Help us sound the alarm in Congress and
turn up the heat on politicians.

Hope to see you in a couple of weeks,

Major Victory for Forests!

Last week a federal judge in California reinstated nearly all of the
Clinton-era Roadless Rule. The Bush administration had gutted the plan that
protects 58.5 million acres of national forest. Approximately 2.5 million
Americans commented on the Roadless Rule after it was proposed in 1998. More
than 95 percent of these people supported the proposed ban on new road
building in our largest tracts of undeveloped forest.
