[SustainableTompkins] list serve digest "problem"

Hello listserve, 

I subscribe to this list, but because of the spam content in my incoming email, as well as the convenience of reading all the day's messages together, I have opted to receive the list in digest format. 

However, for the past month or more, the list digests only arrive once a week to 10 days, and usually therefore include announcements of events that have happened--at that point--several days earlier. 

The list manager has responded to my inquiry about this saying that nobody else who receives the list in digest form has complained about this problem. He informed me that the list is set to create a digest daily, OR IF the content is beyond 100KB. Apparently, this summer, it has taken over a week for 100KB of messages to accumulate and activate the digest compilation. End of discussion.

Does there need to be a critical mass of comments from subscribers before the manager can change the setting (dropping the "or if..." criteria)? That was not offered up as an option, which I find perplexing, to say the least. Of all the lists I have both managed and subscribed to, this and/or business with the digests has never once come up.

Please make your voice heard if you receive the digest version, or if, just on principal, you think that some adjustment is warranted.
