I think Monbiot probably does support a carbon 
ax; I certainly do. The only way I can see most 
oal being left in the ground is if there is a 
ubstantial tax on it "upstream" of its being 
sed: that is, the moment it leaves the ground.

I'm a little surprised that he didn't make a case for a carbon tax, but
perhaps that idea looks totally impossible given the business-as-usual
scene he describes.
