Position Announcement
Title: Community Food Educator Senior Program Coordinator
Responsibilities: Coordinate efforts to promote local/regional farm and
food products to consumers and other buyers, and will facilitate
relationships that enable farmers to increase sales to local and regional
buyers. Responsible for several major initiatives to enhance
local/regional farm and food products purchasing: Buy Local Campaign
(Tompkins County) including farm to institution/restaurant sales,
management of a well established low income CSA program, and support Finger
Lakes Culinary Bounty activities (14 county regional program). Supervise
volunteers and students.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree with relevant professional experience (at
least three years) required or Masters Degree in a field related to
responsibilities of the position preferred. Coursework in Agriculture,
Business, Education, Policy, Communications and related
subjects. Experience working with and or facilitating the work of
grassroots community groups with common interests and goals. Demonstrated
interest in farm and food issues. Experience farming and marketing farm
products.
Minimum Annual Salary: $32,000 (full-time)
Hours/Benefits: Position is entirely grant funded and employment is
contingent upon grant availability. Funding is currently available for a
full-time position for up to 18 months. Options exist for 2 part-time
positions depending on candidate qualifications and time available. The
position offers a full benefits package including health and dental
insurance, retirement, life insurance, and more.
