We have been happy with our exterior doors from Thermotech (Ottawa ON);
They are triple pane, with argon fill and 2 layers of northern low-e film.
These guys really understand passive solar.
I found that the US window companies seem to optimize for sun belt weather;
The Canadians understand cold.
Our doors have a maple veneer on the inside, which looks better than 
painted steel/fiberglass.
They also have a triple latch system, which theoretically makes them 
seal better.
