Not only is it good to see home & community preparedness taking root on 
the left side of the spectrum, but it's refreshing to have a practical 
and playful approach to energy descent. Bates' book is a good place to 
start as we reassess our households in terms of peak oil survival, 
sustainability and the Great Turning (though Bates refers to it as "the 
Great Change.")

I'll be bringing my copy of /The Post-Petroleum Survival Guide & 
Cookbook/ (along with other preparedness books) to the 
PreparedTompkins.org booth at Earth Day, if anyone would like to look it 
over.
