News Flash!

Public hearings on the Black Diamond Trail are finally, officially scheduled!

Dec 5, 7pm, at Borg Warner Rm East, Tompkins Co. Public Library, Ithaca.
Dec 6, 7pm, at Franziska Racker Center, 3226 Wilkins Road, Ithaca

WHAT WE ALL NEED TO DO:
*Attend one of these hearings and at least register our presence on the
sign-up sheet. It is critical that we pack these rooms both nights with
trail advocates.

**You’ll have a chance to SPEAK out in favor of the trail starting at 7:00
p.m. on either night.

***Your WRITTEN comments may be submitted at the hearing or sent to the
Office of Parks up to January 15, 2008.

****Please tell everyone you know! Urge all your friends, neighbors, and
colleagues to show up for the few minutes it takes to register their
presence-even just 5 minutes.

*****Publicize this information in your group’s newsletter or listserv.

Read on for details. Or check our website-these details will also be
posted at: www.blackdiamondtrail.org

Format: A workshop will be held before each hearing from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45
p.m. to answer questions. The hearing will start at 7:00 p.m.

The draft master plan and environmental impact statement will be released
officially on November 21 so the public can review the plan before the
hearings. These will be sent to:
Tompkins County Library
Ulysses Philomathic Library
Town of Ithaca
Town of Ulysses
City of Ithaca, Tompkins County
local State Park offices
posted on OPRHP's web site.

Also, a limited number of CDs and hard copies will be available upon request.

Comments can be submitted or read at the hearing or sent to:

Note: The official publication of all of the information in this message
will not go out until November 21, so it’s important that we all start
spreading the word NOW.

Cheers,
Jan Zeserson
