Reuse Sale has Everything for Sewing Enthusiasts
Activity Directors: Take the Leftovers!
SewGreen, a new collective in the Ithaca area that encourages creative reuse of fabric, fiber, and fashion, is holding a sewing reuse rummage sale, 11 am to 3 pm, Saturday, October 20 at the Unitarian Church annex located in the 200 block of West Buffalo Street, Ithaca. Fabric of all types and sizes from quilting squares to bolts, as well as yarn, needlecraft and sewing supplies, and used sewing machines will be offered. A free t-shirt reuse workshop for all ages will be held at noon. The sale also features demonstrations of a treadle sewing machine and an exhibit of earth-friendly fabric and fibers. Proceeds from the sale will support community sewing classes and refashioning workshops.
Teachers and activity directors are invited to fill a giant bag with anything left over from the sale. Come at 3 pm with a copy of your organization's letterhead or other verification of your program. For more information, contact Wendy Skinner, 277-7611, ws at twcny.rr.com.
