Thanks for alerting people to this important event, Maiken-- however, one
small correction, please, everyone.

The off-campus event will be at Tutelo Park-- Tutelo is both the name of the
park, and, also the name of a Native American nation-- the Tutelo People--
that was adopted into the Haudenosaunee federation of nations-- a league of
peace-- in 1753, near the park, in the village Coreogonal (translation:
"Where we keep the pipe of peace.").

Of course, many in the Cornell Community may not know or appreciate the rich
local history that we are turning to for a leadership model in planning our
off-campus event-- Ezra Cornell is a more appropriate leadership model for
the campus, I'm sure. I'm certain no slight was meant to the Tutelo people
in misspelling the name of the park, which also happens to be the name of
their nation... but, please, let's make the correction in any forwarding of
the information, to properly honor them.

Step It Up Who's a Leader "Where We Keep the Pipe of Peace" event will take
place:

Nov. 3, Noon-3 pm, at Tutelo Park, Bostwick Rd. at the corner of Rt. 13 A
(Floral Ave.).
Please do contact me if you would like more info on the event.

Krys

If you will forward Maiken's email, the section to correct is at the end:

Please know that there is another StepItUp event,
> organized by Krys Cail (krys.cail at gmail.com), in Tupelko Park.
