Dear Friends and colleagues,

I have to apologize for any misunderstandings that may have been caused by
the previous PRT marketing poster submitted to the community yesterday. I
volunteered to make a graphic poster to help *The Sustainability Hub* (a
Cornell student group) promote the PRT presentation they are hosting
at *Cornell
University on Tuesday Nov. 6th at Goldwin Smith Hall (4:30 - 6:00p)* - and
may have taken too much liberty with the image I created for them.
Considering that the event is being produced and hosted by a student group
on campus, I used the *Cornell logo* as a way to indicate the location and
foundation of the initiative. After submitting the poster to The
Sustainability Hub, some of my peers warned that they may not be sanctioned
to use that logo/seal - even though it is a student group and that they are
students attending the University. I followed up with this inquiry and the
consensus was to make a new poster for distribution (see attached - print
and web versions). I apologize for any misleading this may have caused with
the initial graphic - it was by no means my intent. To clarify, all printed
posters have been trimmed to remove the aforementioned logo and all new
posters and web ads have been altered graphically.

I know that this message could be no big deal to some - and a big deal to
others*; so forgive the serious nature of this email if you are in the camp
of the former. The use of an institutions identity should not be taken
lightly and I made an oversight in assuming that students/student group have
the right to use it; and for that - I am sorry.

In addition, the presentation itself and it's message is a very serious
topic and we do not take its purpose lightly either. Our collective
energy is being spent to help Ithaca and Cornell University position
themselves as a pioneer site for a revolutionary new transportation
technology that could make a MASSIVE positive impact on the world we live in
and greatly aid in the efforts to reverse our Carbon and Greenhouse Gas
footprint (and that is just the beginning of the list of benefits to society
and the environment!).

One of the main objectives of the presentation on Tuesday is to give an
open campus/public presentation about the subject matter of what is PRT and
to help inform CU students and faculty about our objectives on Campus, in
Ithaca and the Region. One of the core groups aiming to attend this
presentation is the Cornell Student Assembly - student elected officials
- who may want to officially support PRT (or not). The other main objective
is to invite the public at large to take this opportunity to hear from
Connect Ithaca, learn about the implications of this initiative and to hear
from and question Christer Lindstrom, a highly regarded expert on these
matters internationally, who will be our guest speaker that evening.

Many of you received the invitation to attend (and I apologize if you get
this email twice, as I wanted to make sure everyone gets it and was extra
thorough!) and I sincerely hope you find the time to do so. Please
circulate this email so that we do not have any confusion about the intent
of our visit to Cornell's Campus.

Many thank yous and I appreciate your understanding as I have just taken a
good portion of your personal time with this note.

Warm Regards,

Jacob Alan Roberts
Chair, Connect Ithaca
