CAROLINE BAGS
The sewing community in Tompkins County and beyond has made almost 1000 reusable tote bags for Lighten Up Caroline, a collaboration between Energy Independent Caroline and a team of Cornell University students. A bag containing a compact fluorescent light bulb and literature on sustainable living will be delivered to every household in the town of Caroline, NY. SewGreen has coordinated the production of hand-sewn reusable totes, all made from reused and donated materials and each uniquely beautiful. The VERY LAST DAY to contribute a bag is Friday, April 11. The pattern is posted at www.sew-green.org. Finished bags may be dropped off at the SewGreen Studio at Tuff Soul, 516 West State Street, Ithaca. Want to help stuff and/or deliver bags? Contact energyindependentcaroline at gmail.com.

CSMA GALLERY SHOW CELEBRATES REUSE
Bright colors, artful design, kids' creativity, professional fashion apparel, and our sewing heritage are all represented in the dazzling Green T gallery show at the Community School of Music & Arts, 330 East State Street, Ithaca. Reuse never looked so good, and you might learn something you didn't know about cotton and why "shop-'til-you-drop" is, like, totally out. The show runs through April 11; gallery hours are 10am to 8pm weekdays.

GREEN BUSINESS PANEL
6 - 8 pm, Tuesday, April 8, CSMA, 330 East State Street, Ithaca. Can "going green" lead to success in the consumer marketplace? What can we consumers do to change our shopping behaviors? Local green retailers Joe Nolan of Home Green Home; Ishka Alpern of Tuff Soul Sustainable Style; Domenica Brockman of Petrune; and Kelly Moreland of Mama Goose will discuss the rewards and challenges of blending sustainability and business. A networking reception for green entrepreneurs starts at 6, followed by the panel at 7. Free. All are welcome. Sponsored by SewGreen.
