Dear Friends--The Internet TV channel, http://www.vbs.tv/, has a show on
plastic pollution in the oceans. The clip on the splash page is about 6
minutes long and well worth the visit to the VBS.TV site. Pretty
depressing stuff. It is now estimated that 80 percent comes from garbage
washed into rivers, according to this show. The solution: We must change
the way we live, including purchasing as little plastic as possible. Tom

MY NOTE: Sustainable development does not mean "sustainable growth" as
growth per se is not sustainable. And the term "sustainable" has to mean
"for a very long time" (A. Bartlett).
