Benefit Concert on Sunday, April 27, 3-6 p.m. with Mary Lorson, Judy Hyman, Richie Stearns, Lydia Garrison AND joining them MOHAWK SINGER BEAR FOX
Why: To support the Akwesasne Freedom School in their effort to sustain the Mohawk language and traditions, as well as an AA meeting house at Akwesasne. This is part of a cultural exchange between the LACS (Lehman Alternative Community) Schools Service Class and the Akwesasne Freedom School.
What: A benefit concert with Judy Hyman, Richie Stearns, Mary Lorson, Lydia Garrison, and students from the Freedom School. There will also be FRY BREAD, childcare, and information about various Native and environmental issues.
When: Sunday, April 27 music and tasty fry bread begins at 3:00 and goes until 6ish.
Where: Womens Community Building on the corner of Cayuga St. and Seneca St. It is co-sponsored by the WCB.
Other Info:
· Suggested donation of $8 (kids under 10 free)
· Fry Bread available with various fixings
· CDs for sale
· Childcare crafts for the kids (Mothers Day card making and such) so you can listen to the music in peace
· Information on various Native issues, especially the importance of indigenous languages
· Veggie Fuel Service Bus check it out and support our efforts to help the community while promoting alternative fuels
· Raffle for a pair of GRASSROOTS TICKETS
