The Ithaca Children's Garden is offering a free training on their
Seed to Salad Program for schools and youth programs this Wednesday,
Feb. 6th, 4-5:30pm at Cooperative Extension. Full details below.

Seed to Salad Gardening Program for Schools, Youth Groups and Volunteers
 Wednesday, February 6: 4:00-5:30pm
Cornell Cooperative Extension, 615 Willow Ave.

Last spring the Ithaca Children's Garden piloted an innovative
semester long salad gardening program for elementary schools. Seed to
Salad was such a success, with many teachers and parent volunteers
interested in bring the program to their schools, that we are offering
a training for anyone interested in learning more about the program
and how to involve their classroom, after school program, or school.
Seed to Salad is a multidisciplinary, hands-on gardening program
appropriate for K-5 that includes science, math, language arts,
democratic processes, project planning, art, and horticultural skills.
In this hour and half workshop you'll learn about the program, get
hands-on experience with some of the activities, take some seeds back
to your school or program to get started and learn about ways the
Ithaca Children's Garden can support you in growing gardens at your
school. For more information contact Leigh at 272-2292 x186 or
