I wrote a poem that I'd like to share with this list. I hope it's an appropriate "topic".
Take care,
Eric
The Eleventh Hour
It is the eleventh hour
so hang up your cell phone.
LOL one last time
and then unplug yer internets.
park your car,
and turn off the house lights.
Move your washing machine
outside next to the play set,
the kids will have fun climbing..
Oops, the clock just ticked
again.
It is 11:01
and there are 42 bazillion people
and no oil
and the clean water
is going going
but not..
Oops, the clock ticked again.
Were you watching?
Did you see it coming?
What happened on Heroes this week?
It is time to put up your clothes line.
Hoe a row
and get your hands dirty.
Walk to your neighbor's house
and trade some jam
for those heirloom seeds
that you will surely need.
There is ancient magic
in your Grandma's eyes,
so sit at her feet
and listen.
It will all come back to you.
It had better.
For it is the eleventh hour
and the sand has run down.
The time of softness and ease
is passing,
the long long credit line
is due.
And the only thing to save us
is not some techno fix
but a shift in perception
from me
to we.
We are not separate
or above,
we are part
of the Web of Life.
So start to remember
now,
before
midnight
comes,
and both hands
point
to the sky.
