Some of my ideas to add:

- Farmers markets in neighboring communities that rotate which day their
market is on significantly increases access for those who work. 
- An event I ran at Hartwick College this past September was to have groups
sign up to make a dish for a Local Food Cook-Off and awarded prizes for the
most local dish. This was a huge success that drew in 100 people on short
notice.
- Hands-on skills workshops for easy do-it-yourself projects such as making
solar cookers and haybox cooking insulators from recycled materials
