[SustainableTompkins] Call for 'green' sculpture

You may already know that the Ithaca Downtown Partnership and City Public Art Commission are focusing the '08 Art in the Heart of the City exhibit on 'green' art - which makes us in a tie with Bellevue, WA for thye first 'green' public art program in the country.

  WANTED: ARTISTS AND ‘GREEN’ VISIONS for Ithaca, NY’s 9th Art in the Heart of the City public sculpture exhibit: Celebrating Sustainable Community, an Exploration in Greening Public Art.  For the first time focusing within a theme, ’08 will feature 3-6 works by three artists who use natural, recycled and/or sustainable materials to evoke the images, themes, issues and dreams of sustainable community. Stipend, insurance and installation assistance provided, plus widespread exposure as exemplars, on new online gallery, a Forum on Greening Public Art, and collaborative public programming.
