[SustainableTompkins] EROI and investment

Very interesting. I noted especially the observation that for energy 
extractions that have a marginal return from an energy perspective, the 
same is true from a financial perspective -- that even when energy prices 
rise, these sources of energy will remain expensive. Also noteworthy was 
the observation that the harder we try (as in poking more holes  in a 
search for oil), the lower the resultant return on energy invested for what 
is eventually extracted.

All in all, a very sobering assessment. Thanks for sharing the link.
