[SustainableTompkins] Support for Black Diamond Trail?

Dear Sustainable Tompkins folks,

I'm a fan of the Black Diamond Trail as well of most of the things that 
ST supports. So, I thought that possibly you as individuals or an 
organization might want to throw your support behind the BDT project 
with a formal statement to the NYS authorities who are doing the 
planning. -- at least, it's my assumption that a walking/biking trail 
connecting all our parks fits in with the notion of sustainable 
infrastructure.

A bunch of us have put the available info on a website -- 
http://blackdiamondtrail.org/ -- where you can get info about the trail, 
the state's "Master Plan" (scary, isn't it?) and examples of many 
letters already written regarding the plan. On the home page of that 
site are the addresses (postal and email) where comments must be sent.

The public comment period ends in 8 days, so anyone wishing to support 
(or oppose) the trail has to weigh in on it asap.
