[SustainableTompkins] water heating

Hi,

I have a version of "on-demand" hot water which is that my domestic
hot-water (showers, sinks etc) is attached to the hot water boiler
that heats one wing of the house (a rambling farm house converted to
4 apartments). A storage tank is attached to an indirect coil that
heats the domestic hot water. The boiler is a very efficient
Munchkin. It is on propane.

While the hot water heat is only in three rooms, the domestic hot
water is used in 4 kitchens, 4 bathrooms, and a shared washing
machine. And we never run out of hot water (3 years). However this
only makes sense if you're also heating with hot water. You may be
able to add an indirect coil to an existing boiler if you already
heat with hot water.

I had just put in a new conventional hot water heater the year
before, and it was still worth switching to the indirect coil on the
new boiler I was installing.
