Dear Friends,
I did not want to jump into this foray.

However as a member of the LSB and the vice chair of
the Management and Search Committee I would like to
point these points forward:

It is truly not proper any of us, the LSB members to
publically advocate for any person to be selected for
the position of GM.

WE MUST STOP TALKING ABOUT POSSIBLE INDICVIDUAL
CANDIDATES.

The fact is that we have been given the responsibility
to search for candidates for the GM position.
This does not mean that there is something wrong with
the current interim GM.

Once the proper job anncouncement has been developed(
The managemenet and Searh committee has been working
on that), and it is advertised, all who areare
interested and believe they met the requirement are
welcome to apply.

At that point, or even now, any one whether member of
LSB or not, can, speaking as individuals and in
private, encourage individuals that they deem
qualified to apply.

AGAIN AS LSB MEMBERS IT IS INAPPROPRIATE FOR US TO
MAKE STATEMENTS IN SUPPORT OF ONE OR ANOTHER PERSON.

This will really make our effort look biased, even if
it is an inocent statement.

I, as the vice chair of the management and search
committee will refrain from encouraging any specific
person to apply, let alone promote ta person. I will
not do it in private.

Once we have an anouncement advertised for the public,
if I know of places or groups of people where I may
promote our anouncement, I wil do so as an attempt to
get as many qualified candidates as we can.

So please help all of us as LSB to save our
credibility.

In solidarity,
Simin Royanian
