Friends
Mark, Thomas, thanks for the Living Newspaper, and the 'extensive comments',
proposals.
They are, in my estimation, two documents that will contribute to shape our
thinking regarding the voice of WPFW. I support the formatting you have
proposed. Let me add some of my thinking to those that I'm sure will be voicing
their opinions.
First let me applaud you for what you have proposed and commented on. I
think it is powerful and thoughtful.
It seems to me that we have two choices; One, is to look at how to make our
programming more effective, or; Two, leave it alone.
For those who accept One, we have a proposal and comments to comment on, or
suggest different proposals.
For those who accept Two, they have to comment on this proposal and
comments, and any future proposals and comments, as to why they are not needed.
I'm with One.
Is it possible to have Dr. Brewer's, Mynd Talk retain a one hour twice
weekly time allocation. I feel that her program is unique because the focus on
mental health and relationship issues/promblems; address a broad cross section
of our communities concerns; it is meticulously researched; is directed by
professional ethics.
I would suggest using Dr. Brewers skills, if she were willing, as a resource
to other programmers (news, public affairs, music, etc.), to gain mental
health and relationship insight into their programming if needed. I feel that in
addition to being programmers, many need to be recognized for the resource
they are or can be to WPFW, if given that recognition and opportunity. So let
the dialogue begin. Thanks again Mark, Thomas.
